My sister Deb attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska, and worked at a filter manufacturing company there. She was an active science fiction fan and met her future husband, Dan Stratmann, at a St. Louis sci fi convention. They were married on a cold and sleet-y December day in St. Louis, where they started their life together. Dan studied at Eden Theological Seminary and was ordained in the United Methodist Missouri East Conference and served churches in DeSoto, Pacific, and Princeton/Mercer before his death in 2013. Deb worked for several years at Laclede Groves as office manager for the chaplain. They adopted Andrew Campbell of DeSoto, who died in his sleep at the young age of 27, after finding his "ideal job." Deb adopted his daughter Adriana and is an active part of this delightful young person's life.
