Life Partner Maggie

Maggie grew up in Nebraska, daughter of a Methodist minister, Lawrence R. Davis, and Merna M. Davis. We met at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from NWU with a major in sociology. We graduated together and a couple of weeks later, got married, and moved to Claremont, California, where she worked at the seminary library while I was at the School of Theology at Claremont (now Claremont School of Theology). She graduated from UCLA with a Master of Library and Information Service degree. After we moved back to Nebraska in 1975, she served the Nebraska Library Commission as a regional support person for SE Nebraska pubic libraries. She also worked for Lincoln City Libraries and then as a regional organizer for Bread for the World from 1988-91. We moved to Denver when she was moved from Washington, D.C. to the western regional office. She attended Iliff School of Theology, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree, and is an ordained United Methodist minister, with a gift for chaplaincy. She served the Hospice of Metro Denver (now The Denver Hospice) as chaplain from 1999-2008. She served as chaplain and voluntary agency liaison for FEMA until 2014, and a case manager/supervisor since, for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) at Boulder County Long Term Flood Recovery Group. She worked in hospice again for Covenant Hospice at Home and then for SCL Lutheran Hospital and Hospice until her retirement in July, 2020.
