In Monday's action, the Traditionalist Plan advanced with minimal amendments to the plenary session on Tuesday, while the One Church Plan failed to win a majority of votes to advance. The only hope fot it is for it to be brought as a minority report.

However, all actions of that Legislative Committee (the GC meeting as a committee of the whole), were also sent to the Judiciall Council for a declaratory decision, and that report could have a big impact on the plenary's work.

In other actions, two "exit" plans were forwarded: petition 90059 and 90066, as were two petitions called Wespath Recommendations, 90016 and 90017.

A motion to reject all other petitions led to debate whether to talk about The Simple Plan and the Connectional Conference Plan. The Connectional Conference Plan failed to get support, while The Simple Plan was agreed to be talked about by a 57% majority. It did not get passed onto the Plenary, after some passionate speeches, 323-494, 39.53%

The plenary session on Tuesday will work with these petitions and the future of the UMC will be determined--or the can kicked down the road...
